everybody's contemporary, Mary
Mary Adamopoulou encountering the Maison Michel, Heidi Rabbit with veil.
Mary is using sign language in Greek. Her words translate as follows:
"Hello. My name is Mary. I am a journalist for newspaper TA NEA. Every day I write about art. Some time ago I learned sign language but I do not remember many words now. I like fashion but I do not wear hats. It is the first time I am wearing a bunny hat. I think it is a little too much but it's nice"

Selection Ten – Maison Michel
Object: Heidi Rabbit with Veil
This headband conjoins the mourning veil of Victorian era Christianity and the bunny ears of contemporary American soft-core porn. The veil reflects the binary ideology that plays out in much of modern women's fashion—for the young, a childlike costuming that suggests an infantilized adult sexuality, and for the no longer young, a matronly mummification, sexlessly entombing face and body as if death has already arrived.
